Ardab Mutiyaran Movie Review

“Ardab Mutiyaran” presents an entertaining watch, thanks to the commendable efforts of director Manav Shah, the dialogue writer, and the lead actress, Sonam Bajwa. Despite its average storyline and execution, the film succeeds in capturing the audience’s attention through its standout character portrayed brilliantly by Sonam.

Sonam Bajwa’s portrayal of Babbu Bains is outstanding, as she effectively embodies the character’s body language and local accent. While the film may stumble initially, it finds its footing when Sonam enters the screen, captivating viewers with her impactful performance. Sonam’s presence elevates an otherwise average film, and her charisma keeps the audience engaged throughout.

What sets “Ardab Mutiyaran” apart is its departure from the typical Punjabi cinema tropes, showcasing a Jatti character instead of the traditional Jatt archetype. Sonam’s Babbu Bains becomes the heart and soul of the movie, leaving the audience anticipating her every appearance, as she brings fireworks to every scene.

However, the film seems to have been written hastily, borrowing various plots from other movies without delving into emotional depth. Despite the inclusion of obligatory songs, routine background scores, and occasional over-the-top performances, “Ardab Mutiyaran” manages to entertain primarily due to Sonam’s captivating portrayal. The supporting cast, including B. N. Sharma, Sudesh Lehri, Upasana Singh, Ninja, Mehrene Kaur, and Ajay Sarkaria in his debut, provide decent support to Sonam’s stellar performance.

Sonam Bajwa continues to establish herself as the most famous and sought-after actress in Punjabi cinema, effortlessly carrying her glamorous persona on and off the screen, garnering a growing fan base. Her talent and charm make her a deserving candidate for a breakthrough into mainstream Hindi cinema.

Regarding the writing, “Ardab Mutiyaran” showcases the influence and admiration for Hindi cinema often seen in Punjabi film scripts. The characterizations in the film appear to draw inspiration from Rekha’s role in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s “Khubsoorat” and Vijay Sadanah’s “Sau Din Saas Ke,” resulting in a clever and likable fusion of old elements.

For movie buffs and writers, watching all three movies will unveil the clever and enjoyable mix of recycled material. Despite its shortcomings, “Ardab Mutiyaran” offers an entertaining experience, mainly due to Sonam Bajwa’s stellar performance and the film’s engaging narrative.
